Your child’s academic growth is specific to them. At RIS we uphold a ‘student-focussed’ approach whereby the students are active participants in their learning. This means that the students are able to identify exactly what they are learning and can talk about their challenges and successes. This form of learning empowers students to take control over their learning and enables them to develop and achieve personal learning goals.

Our students are also given intensive Literacy and Numeracy time everyday which is always timetabled within the morning sessions. This is to ensure that our students are accessing as much of these curriculum areas as possible.

Academic Support and Enrichment Programmes are available in:

  • ESOL (English second language learning)
  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Mathematics
  • Art
  • Music
  • Band
  • Music Performance
  • Choir
  • School Productions
  • Digital Literacy
  • Sport

Here are Rosehill Intermediate School, we run exceptional support programmes for identified students. These additional lessons are scheduled for in and out of the classroom, whichever best suits the individual. We have trained ESOL teachers and various teacher aides to help our students achieve.

Our various Enrichment programmes enable these identified students to excel in areas of talent. Again, these programmes run within and outside of the classroom.
